Get Ready Gaston 2020

 The fourth-annual Get Ready Gaston is an invitation-only forum for elected officials, county and municipal administrators and key staff members, economic development and planning professionals and business and community leaders in Gaston County.  Following COVID-19 safety guidelines, this will be a virtual forum. It is being presented by the Montcross Area Chamber of Commerce and Atrium Health. The purpose is to help local leaders better understand and prepare for the challenges and opportunities that come with growth.

8:05               Atrium Health Medical Director for Infection Prevention Dr. Catherine L. Passaretti
                      presents an update on the current state of the pandemic in our area

8:30              Gaston County Economic Development Commission Executive Director Donny Hicks   
                     speaks on the past, present and future of economic development in Gaston County

9:15              Gaston-Lincoln-Cleveland Metropolitan Planning Organization Administrator Randi Gates
                     presents an update on transportation projects and issues in Gaston County

10:00            Two Rivers Utilities Director of Public Utilities Joe Albright
                     provides an update on water and sewer needs and projects under way and planned

10:45            Gastonia City Manager Michael Peoples 
                     presents on major economic development initiatives in the county seat

11:45            Gaston College President Dr. John Hauser
                     speaks on the present and future role of the community college in economic development
